Holistic Mental health care that’s accessible and convenient.

Online Therapy for Women

From Tampa Bay, & Online throughout FL

Over the last few years of adapting to COVID-19 and virtual meetings, online therapy has become increasingly popular, widely available, and could be considered a new “norm.”

While this is true, online therapy is still new to many, and you likely have questions about what it is, how it works, and wonder if it could really work for you.

Here are more details so you know what to expect.

What is online therapy?

Online therapy, or telehealth (also called telemedicine), consists of meeting with a mental health professional by video on your computer, smartphone or other device.

Online sessions consist of both a video and audio connection, and is hosted on a secure, HIPAA compliant platform.

Telehealth can also be provided when not meeting “live” with your therapist, or asynchronously. We utilize this to provide educational lessons, or recordings from your therapist, or offer feedback on your therapeutic activities and progress.

  • Saves travel and commute time

  • Meet from the comfort of your own home

  • Meet wherever is convenient for you (as long as you’re in FL, have privacy, and aren’t driving!)

  • Greater access to specialized therapists for rural and small town folks

  • Easier access to electronically share handouts, tools, and therapy exercises

  • Increased opportunity for learning and practically applying skills

HOW TO GET STARTED

Counseling doesn’t need to be complicated.

#1 - Let’s Connect!

Book a free consultation and we can decide if working together is right for you. It’s important you choose a therapist you feel comfortable sharing openly with, and who has expertise in the areas you need to focus on, to help you create the change you desire. I can help you decide if I’m the best match for you!

#2 - We’ll Jump In!

We’ll get you started right away - from setting up our first meeting and allowing you to share your experience, to learning some new information about your current problem - you’ll feel some relief and you can start to heal. If either of us decide I’m not the best option for you, I’ll happily give you other referrals.

#3-Feel Better & Change Your Life!

We will dig in to help you gain new insights about the problems you’re faced with, and equip you with tools to take small actions between meetings. You’ll start noticing changes and will feel empowered to keep going. Before you know it, you’ll be feeling so much better - refreshed & like yourself again!

The next version of yourself is within you. But you don’t have to get there alone.

Common questions about online therapy:

  • You can meet from wherever is most comfortable, that’s the beauty of online therapy. It’s common to meet from the comfort of your home.

I recommend joining from a private, quiet space without distractions, either from your home or a relaxing outdoor space.

If necessary for convenience, meetings can be accessed from your car, as long as you are not driving or in motion.

A smartphone or wifi connection is needed.

If you need a private space, a public library may have private meeting rooms available at no cost.

  • Therapy sessions are hosted on a HIPAA secured audio/video platform.

You will receive email reminders with the meeting link, and will have access via the client portal.

You can log in from a laptop, desktop, smartphone, or other device.

  • Although the internet will secure a connection from anywhere in the world, unfortunately we CANNOT meet while you are traveling and located outside of the state of Florida (or South Carolina or Kentucky - I am licensed in these states too).

We are regulated by state laws and the Board of Clinical Social Work and are not able to provide therapy, or healthcare services, when you are physically outside of the state you reside.

  • We are not able to meet by phone for a therapy session, and must have both an audio and video connection based on state requirements to provide telehealth, also called online therapy.

  • We offer a convenient online client portal where you can book new appointments, and make changes if you need to reschedule or cancel an appointment. Your clinician can also assist you directly with your scheduling needs.
